Going Long and Hard.

I'm sad that I'll eventually have to upgrade my i9's due to standards changing. For mountain bike parts it's amazing that they are over a decade old of constant use and still awesome and I don't feel the need to get new ones. Not many 10+ year old mountain bike parts that are still used regularly out there. Maybe I should make a thread. My front is actually an original stans flow hoop. Gen 1, still perfect. would be nice to upgrade the hoops to wider/lighter shit but they just keep working.

I just did it this week so I'm still feeling it. Jim at least knew his bike was there but flying with my bike stresses me the hell out ever time. I get such a relief when I see it pop out on the conveyor. I don't relax till I get out of the rental car place. I stress myself out with the clusterfuck of a way I weasel myself into a luxury suv while paying for a compact. I got boned this time but was able to return a few days later at midnight and swap out my sedan for a Cadillac suv at no charge but for days I was stressing that too since we had planned to sleep in it the second half of the trip.
You seem to travel enough that you're probably totally used to it by now. But I couldn't imagine traveling with kids either.

You also almost died from carrying your luggage.

Just catching up now. CONGRATULATIONS JIM!!! I can't imagine a worse nightmare to start. Great job dealing with the unexpected and getting the job done.

It's time to begin thinking about the other side of my riding. I have a new bike coming in specifically for Ultra Road. Even more specifically the Ultra-est Ride in Ultra Road. Short term goals are R-12, Super, and BRB1200 to qualify for PBP. If that happens, I may be the first person in history to do the ITI and PBP in the same year.
