Road ID

Do any of these colors conflict with meaning for anything else? Isnt there some braclets that people with medical conditions wear that a certain color symbolizes a certain sickness or allergy or something like that?

I wouldn't wear the blue or red one if your making deliveries in the hood:popcorn:

What kind of soda do you deliver again? As long as he's not wearing a crip ID and delivering blood soda.

On a side note, I am not e-stalking you dude (Walter)...I just read the boards. A lot.

Its ok, I like the attention.🙄😀

I work for Pepsi so I dont think I could wear a red one anyway:getsome:

I just thought that there was some ER code system with colored bracelets.

Not that I know of, she just liked the purple . I explained to her we can get another color in the future if she wants to.

I don't know how people ride WITHOUT a Road ID.

Totally came in handy when I was creamed by an SUV and barely functional. The EMT said mine was the first he had ever seen and that it was great.

I run and ride with it.

I had the Original but recently ordered an Elite. The Elite is heavier and the clasp sometimes comes undone. If I had to choose, I would go with the Original (just my preference).

Be safe!

I have run into a lot of emergency situations with no information available. Every little bit helps.

Can you expand on this thought?

My thing is this. In an emergency, I want the police and ambulance there. If I made one, it would say, "In case of emergeny, call 911. If you're 911, stop reading and save my life!"

I guess it helps tie things up. But in the heat of the actual emergency, I don't see how it can be that helpful unless you have specific medical conditions that the EMTs should know about.

I also saw the $30 price tag and thought, for real?

I have a set of dog tags on the road bike that have my home phone and my health insurance policy info. Its my "I have insurance, get to work" sign.

I was kind of thinking along the same lines. Is there a difference b/w writing down all my info on a business card and sticking it in a well visible place in my wallet. Other than the fact that it looks pretty.

I guess in an emergency I would want my folks to know, but I would want them to save my life before they start picking up the phone and tracking down my relatives.

I think they are a must have "Bazooka, Road ID, go ride" Tommy and I both have them. I thought the cost was about $21 each. I wear my Road ID racing too, and not just bike riding. Since Tommy rides to work everyday I have piece of mind knowing that god forbid someone needs to call me. You guys will spend tons of money on Power meters and crap but will complain about 20 Bucks! Jimmy you put more info on the band than a phone number, blood type and such.
RC ... :hmmm:

insurance info
blood type
someone I know by my side asap
what if my phone breaks during crash?

I don't need another reason.

When it boils down to it, if medics have no information regarding your medical history they will do what is needed to save you. But it would be nice for them not to stick you with something that is going to cause some adverse effect.

Would you want your family to be notified in case of emergency?
Most of us keep our phones with us but I have had cases where phones have been destroyed in the accident.

As a first responder I have to say that its a helpless feeling when someone cannot help themselves and you have no way to contact family or friends.

My ID has this info ;
Name / Age
Address
Home phone
Wife's cell
Parents home phone
and most important in my opinion the last line say's
ER-Morristown Memorial

Assuming I ride locally which I do , an ambulance will take you to the closest hospital . I do NOT want to go to any of the closer hospitals . I ride almost always at Mahlon . If I got hurt there , I would be taken to Dover General .....OVER MY DEAD BODY do I want to go there . My mother and my wife also work at Morristown Memorial so that's a HUGE plus .

Just ordered mine, I got the basic one and it was $19.50 shipped with the coupon code. I've been meaning to order one just haven't until now. Thanks to this thread for the reminder.

Everything I do is solo - biking, hiking, running etc. Wouldn't go without it. Have an elite non-interactive.

I heard that black is anti-ss. 🙂
