i have that same MSR filter...works great...just beware of that plastic grip thing slipping offTrans VA Gear. There's basically 2 stores in the first 400+ miles so I'll be riding legitimately self-supported. Will more than likely pack my Windburner and bring a full pannier worth of Oatmeal and Dinner Fixings. They marked water sources on the map so I've transferred those into my cheat sheet.

Pretty stelar test run this morning. Broke a chain, crashed and popped one of my Panniers off, found out eTrex doesn't follow a route and will cut through people's yards to a Waypoint. 🤣🤣
I figured out the eTrex. It's a little weird but I get it. You set a track instead of a Route if you want to follow an exact path. Because it's designed for areas with no roads, it makes sense.

As do all Garmin GPSs with which I'm familiar.It's not that part of it. It's which you load into the map on the unit. The eTrex has both Route and Track capability.
