650b

I'm thinking of converting my Mojo HD to 650b since the frame will accept both wheel sizes. However, I'm not sure if the 650b will fit my 36 Talas 160. Is it possible or do I need to get a new fork?

From what I read on the mtbr 650b forum they said most Fox will clear.

that would be FREAKING AWESOME...

...except that my little birdies told me that company wasn't anywhere near 650b.

of course that was a few months ago and with the way the market has changed, ramping up production would be a minimal issue.
 
I still believe 26" will be for the DH race scene, even Gwynn will prolly do all on a 26" sea otter is like a giant pump track.

650b is being pushed hard because the overnight explosion of enduro racing which is expected to be huge. Enduro racing is exactly what most weekend warriors do with their friends go out and challenge themselves it the tech areas. I would suspect lbs's will see a large number of these bikes going out the door over the other wheel sizes.
 
I'm kinda of enjoying just sitting back and see where this all goes since I'm not really in the market for a new bike. There's definately a hard push coming for the wheel size. I think we'll have a clearer picture by the '15 models come out.
 
This weekend I took my wife out for her first proper mtb ride. She used my 650b HT. I flipped the stem up, dropped the post, and moved the saddle a bit fwd. She had no complaints and the fit looked very good. She did pretty awesome. Even rode clipless (she rides spd on the road too though). Even attempted a small log pile but the rear slid out on her and she unclipped just in time to not tumble. I mostly followed her and she looked smooth on 650b being 5'6". She has no idea she is was on tweener wheels. I didn't care to explain but she wants to ride more.

"Honey, this new full suspension 650b is for us"



Now how would she do with a long travel 29er :hmmm:

Could you explain how the "new" Enduro Race/Scene is run..what makes it different from a regular MTB race?....thanks in adance 🙂
 
Enduro, otherwise known as the mountain biking most of actually do, i.e. ride technical trails hard. And Enduro isn't an overnight explosion, they've been doing it in Europe for a while.

I think Matty is taking about the race format, which while it was popular in Europe, so is David Hasslehof. So it took a while for it to catch on here. And now it's blowing up.
