We just openly admitted today that our navy is useless against cheap drones.... Now not that I wanted this tested and to see any of our sailors possibly hurt... But this is the position our dipshit president has put us in by started this war with zero planning.
And Israel is going to agree to stop attacking Lebanon? I'll have to see this to believe it

This has been Iran's conditions for essentially the entire war
- Fundamental commitment to non-aggression from the US.
- Controlled passage through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with the Iranian armed forces, which in effect would mean that Iran retains its leverage over the waterway.
- An acceptance of Iran’s nuclear enrichment programme.
- The lifting of all primary and secondary sanctions and resolutions against Iran.
- End of all resolutions against Iran at the International Atomic Energy Agency.
- End of all resolutions against Iran the United Nations Security Council.
- The withdrawal of US combat forces from all bases in the region.
- Full compensation for damages suffered by Iran during the war — to be secured through payments to Iran by ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
- The release of all Iranian assets and properties frozen abroad.
- The ratification of all these matters in a binding UNSC resolution.
Trump said last night he agreed to them as a framework... But no chance he can agree to all of that. I mean just as it stands today.... Iran controlling the strait, no sanctions on their oil... That alone makes them the most powerful country in the middle east.... But there is no good way out of this mess... Shit deal, or send in ground troops... Hope that works in the meantime the markets go batshit crazy....

FWIW, I got a insight recently into religious right bull shit (my mother is a born again Christian) and those nuts are still going on about Obama and how he should be in prison. There really is no talking to these people.

Think about the unstated things that have now been exposed....
Yes, we can bomb anything we want in Iran....and we have realized it doesn't matter in a strategic sense....Cheap drones and missiles are all they need to put us in a very bad economic bind....controlling the strait is all that is needed to control the outcome of the war.
We know now that there isnt going to be a war for Taiwan....If we wont go near the Strait of Hormuz with our navy....we're not going anywhere near Taiwan.
The GCC countries now know we can't protect them and Iran can take their oil facilities off line whenever they feel like it
Israel knows Iran can cause ALOT of damage to their country.
Our bases in the GCC countries are now in ruins and mostly abandoned
Our great economic allies....South Korea, Japan, Australia, Europe has been BADLY economically hurt by this, far more than us....Iran now knows this and knows all of the pressure the US will experience if the strait is ever closed.
Whether you want to say our navy can't deal with cheap drones, or we just didnt feel this worth putting them in danger....I mean the result is the same...We are not going to expose our navy to drones.
Now alot of these problems existed before trump....like we have had a bad poker hand....Trump was just dumb enough to bet the house and put the cards on the table.

Zooming out a bit. To me, the obvious answer is to end our dependence on fossil fuels. Trump pursues the exact opposite of that goal at every turn - canceling every green energy initiative, boosting oil and coal, etc. There's a finite amount of oil in the world. It's not renewable. We've already pumped about half of it in the relatively short time since we started. The oil that's left is increasingly harder to extract, too, so it will only get more expensive, with or without wars over it. A crisis like this would normally accelerate efforts to look into other energy options, but not with this f##king guy.
