Winter riding shoes

I have lakes and they have done well. After looking at the shimanos there is almost no way they will be as warm as the lakes but a huge plus is that they don't look stupid. Also, you could probably put a bootie on the shimanos for really cold days on the road bike. I'd you mainly ride in temps above 20, the shimanos will probably be fine off road. If you want shoes to take below that, lakes.

I have the Shimanos, they're perfectly warm in any condition I've ever been in, which I believe is all of them 😀

They have single digit centuries on them with no feet issues son!!

Robin, the Pearl Izumi shoes run one to 2 sizes smaller than stated if you come across a pair of those.

We just turned in Pattys coupon cards from races she did at jungle on a pair of PI's at towncycle they had just her size and out of my pocket $130 so it was a score.

Nashbar

Nashbar.com has The Lake 302 and 303's on sale. Their deal keeps changing. Monday/Tuesday was an extra 20% off. Today they changed it to free shipping. Bikeman.com said they were suppose to get the new 45nrth shoes in this week. Does anyone know if The 45nrth are suppose to run wide? I tried a Lake 303 wide with thick socks and it was really comfortable.

This will be my first season of serious winter riding. I am considering sidi or lake winter riding shoes. are there any pros or cons to these brands. I was told the lakes have problems with there boa system? are there any bike shops in nj that stock winter shoes? thanks for any input.

If you want some Lakes - I've got some lightly used size 45 (I think - but I'll check) PM if you have interest. Big savings and the ones to get to really keep ya warm.

I pretty much destroyed my Pearl Izumi Barrier GTX winter shoes at the HorseShoe Scramble Race...I just found a sick deal ($115 with free 2 day shipping) on the Shimano MW-81's that everyone has been raving about...I got the last pair of 45's (I hope they are big enough...I usually wear 44 mega sidi's...Hope these are a little bigger than those so I can fit my thick wool socks in them) Anybody with small feet here is the link http://www.backcountry.com/shimano-sh-mw81-shoe-mens They still have Sizes 40,41,42,43
