Trail Trimming..

As far as I have seen, the bikes are low man on the totem pole as evidenced by the proposed bicycle ban at the park almost fifteen years ago. (The MTB community at Allaire has establised a solid reputation in that time through a lot of volunteer work). So I would say MTB only trails would be a dream, and only upset people in this multi-use park.

As for single direction, with the amount of traffic the park sees throughout the year (more riders from up north during the winter), it would be impossible to enforce or to inform.

We can't even get people to carry thier garbage out/not build jumps in the middle of a trail/not cut bandit trails/not ride moto in the park, and those are all common sense/posted requests.

So with all due respect (and I am saying with all due repect) It would be impossible and a waste of time, I would put it up there with my dream of a park approved, sustainable, eco friendly, northshore style, wooden trail down by the river that would not wash away in a hurricane.

Well said!!!

Which is a shame since from what I gather, MTB riders do most of the trail maintenance albeit for our own benefit, but these trails would eventually be impassible without constant maintenance. And lets be honest, an equestrian would most likely break themselves and their horse if they tried to negotiate most of tiger.

While a good amount of service is provided by mtb/cyclecross riders, other groups do help. There are hikers and horse riders who lend a much appreciated and well skilled hand (thanks guys and gals!).

An you would be surprised, there are quite a few of the local equestrians who can take tiger down faster than some of the cyclists!

Just out of curiosity... How hard would the process be to turn a trail to mtb specific and single direction? In terms of park approval process. For instance, there are state parks that forbid anything but hikers on certain trails and it would make sense to restrict certain trails to mtb. As for single direction, it may help with trail wear if you flip direction every so often (I know some motocross tracks do this).

Serpentine is one way, MY WAY.

can we make tiger woods just a 29er trail? not sure why 26ers would ever want to ride it

When ever we have a session to do work we try to make the trails as mutli-use as possible and we have quite a few equestrians that help out with the TM sessions,,, Plus I have seen them ride TW very well as a matter of fact.

You guys are crazy, no idea how you ride that thing in there. I was on a white Yeti, but I'm sure I'm a dime a dozen in that park compared to you guys 😱

We frequent Allaire pretty regularly, especially during the winter. Stop by and say "Hi" next time you see us.🙂
