*stolen*

man, i can understand crackheads rummaging for some $$$ in the ashtray, but stealing a roadbike??? freekin insane

sorry to hear, and hopefully it turns up soon untouched by these scumlickers

What a bummer to have that nice of a bike stolen. I'd check the neighborhood and see if they ditched it some where close.

Wow- That sucks Matty.
As others have said, it's an uncommon bike, hoping it turns up for you.

Sorry to hear about this Matty. I lost a ton of stuff when my car burnt up. M car insurance only covered up to $200. The rest I have to go through my homeowners policy, minus a $500 deductible.
Hope that this leads to them getting caught. Hope they go to Fleabay or something and get nailed.. Good luck.:getsome:

Here is the really f 'd up thing I called my cops at 5am yesterday and was told when the shift switches the other detective would call. I called again at noon and got attitude from the guy that I was told they are following protocol. Well still no call and no police report. Carson and Fred what am I missing here?

Ugh, I hate people . Sorry about the bike, call you insurance omany, my homeowners was helpful Helen I Had my roof rack ripped off in September, car was right in front of my house. My car was "ransacked" the other day, but nothing was taken.

Sorry to hear this Matty. I had a bike stolen from my car years ago. I lived in South Jersey at the time. I called the police out and gave them the serial # and they filled out the report and all. What they said to me next was truly depressing. They said a lot of bikes get stolen and they typically don't have time to chase serial numbers down....they have more important things to worry about than stolen bikes.... :-(
Hopefully your PD has a better outlook on the situation.
Needless to say, I never saw my bike again. :-(
My insurance company was helpful. They cut me a check less my deductible so I was able to go out and get something.

I hope they catch the DB and get your bike back man.

Really?? Are you covered by State Police or by a local police department?

This would never happen in my agency. You are the victim of a burglary.

This is really only half true. The reason the serial number is important is so it can be entered as stolen property into the national database. If some cop stops some dude on a bike in Iowa, runs the serial number and it comes back stolen, the dude gets locked up for receiving stolen property, and the bike is held as evidence and will be returned to the owner.

But yeah, no one outside the immediate area of the theft is going to be looking for the bike (or even aware of the stolen bike, most likely).

Hey Matt

Sorry about the bike. Its unique and will hopefully stand out.

Anyway, I have a 58 cm Van Dessel gin and trombones that is about 2/3 complete. If you have some components (mainly shifters and derailleurs) around we could probably get it rolling easily. You are welcome to use it as long as you want. It was my only road bike for several years, so I know it'll do the job.

Shoot me a text if you are interested. 908-797-8033

Thank you for all of your thoughts and offers. So many great people out there to make up for the Scum. I maybe wishful thinking that this bike will turn up. Fact is there really is not many Gunnar's around. My dad has contacted via email many shops so word is around.

After giving my local police force a 3rd call Saturday morning they finally came out to the house. I was one of 7 car break-ins in the neighborhood. Officer says its typically kids. Unfortunately i probably supplied the get away vehicle.

without being too morbid - ride around the house for a couple miles and look over the edges of roads, and under trees. under bridges, and anyplace else that you might hide/ditch a bike. if not the bike, there may be other clues - perhaps they grabbed someone's nice leather gym bag, then ditched the jock, and tie-dye....

check the bike rack at the middle school and hs too.

wish there was more we all could do...

Kids ride bikes to school? The only bikes I see kids riding these days are in the arcade or on their devices.😛

really sucks to hear about your bike. It's pretty unique, so hopefully the right person will see it out there somewhere.
