Stephens State Park Conditions

Rode Stephens from the Iron Gate this morning. Ran into MattyB and joined him for a piece of his 3 parker tour. Conditions are perfect. Got about an 1.5" of fresh powdery goodness last night which helped make this one of the best snow rides of the season so far. A couple of newly downed trees scattered within the park. Seems that these may be trees that were a bit "loose" from Sandy. Get out there!!!

What's it like up here right now? I'm guessing it's not rideable, but I figured I'd ask anyway, looking for something to do tomorrow morning

No report to give, I'm just sitting on my couch thinking about the wind I don't want to be in 😀

Muddy by the lake, too much snow up top, so much so that I actually had to pedal in my granny gear going down the cooler trail. Didn't bother with trail that runs along the railroad tracks. The maze was snowy but it had been packed down so it was ok. After the three of us rode through there it is probably even better... Overall, there's more snow there than you might think...

Thanx.. it's been awhile since I was out. I'm getting itchy so when I do finally get out, I'll let u know how it was. I need some sun.

Does anyone have an update? Thinking about coming here tomorrow if its rideable.

P and I rode all of lower from trestle to ranger station , a few snow covered areas but otherwise pretty solid conditions..

Rode today on Pink, White, White/Red, Red, Orange, Blue, Serpentine and a few unmarked. Conditions were excellent. No snow whatsoever and trails are remarkably dry and tight. Very few muddy spots unless it was at a water crossing.

Thank you!!! Haven't been out here in some time and was curious on how it was.

Its the tits, get out there!

You are correct Sir!!!

Hit up SSP with JDGang yesterday morning. My 1st SS ride this Spring. I almost forgot how much fun a SS really is. Didn't make it to Upper Stephens due to time restraints.

Trails are in EXCELLENT shape wth very minimal mud. A big kudos goes out to those that have been working clearing the secondary trails throughout the park. A ton of work has gone in to the Sandy clearing.

May want to wait a day after the storm fronts roll through to allow to dry.

Well the area by the railroad underpass has been on fire!!! Shit is still smoldering! It looks like there had some effort to contain it by creating motes...
