MTBNJ Races in 2013?

I agree that this sucks. But I think we need to stick with the tradition here. It seems like we bend over backwards for every other race venue to make sure there are no conflicts. At some point you have to say, what can you do?

As much as I'd like for the whole VTC crew to do the Mooch race, I understand that the RC trails are indeed awesome. And maybe we lose numbers because of it, IDK. Hopefully this venue doesn't die, but if there's o demand, then there's no demand.

I totally get it...there are only so many days in a year, and if its firm, its firm. Like I said, I'm torn and I wish I could do both. There will always be conflicts; we'll see how it plays out, but I think (and hope) the Mooch race will do big numbers regardless. I would recommend getting it up on Bikereg early, so people who might not be on this forum have a chance to put it in their calenders.

i was watching oxford vs poole on sunday on channel 33 (comcast). they ran 19 heats. these races are crazy. body checking each other, one rider got flipped over a fence.

i could see jake doing this in flip flops on beach cruiser.

Wait, this is on cable in the USA?

Not that I doubt matty's course design skills but putting together a 25 mile loop in mooch north that is both as fun as last year and that doesn't involve 3-4k ft of climbing per lap is going to be tough. If it does involve that much climbing (6-8k for two laps), I hope you leave an option to do a single lap for those of us who don't care about dollars/suffering factor and would like to push ourself to our limit without having to be carried out on a stretcher.

I don't really care about medals, in fact my chances of getting one (or a cool painted rock) are probably better at Mooch.

It will prob. come down to a VTC vote.

I know you don't care about that silly, I was giving you (and the VTC) a guilt trip.

race at Nassau Trail

I'd really like to host a race at the Nassau Trail. I want to do this for a few reasons. First, it would be a fun fast course. It would provide some great exposure for the trails we've spent two years getting approval for and building. Lastly, I think it is important for getting approval to start our expansion into the Springside Farm tract. The Tour of High Bridge (June 15 or 16, road event) is likely a go despite the fact that it has mixed support in High Bridge and has been nearly canceled for 3 years now. We've had numerous town events canceled because the volunteers simply go tired of doing them. A MTB race is an event fits with the town's strategic vision (active outdoor community) and would be very well received for bring outsiders to our town. Is there any interest? I'm happy to work with, under or autonomously from MTBNJ, but I need a date to target. Just want to fit into the schedule to avoid conflicts. how about it?

sounds cool!

Is it going to be 4 different courses? Or 2 in one direction and then reverse the last 2 weeks?

Aaaaaaand is there a discount an option for Pre-reg to all 4...?...😉

Still waiting on permission from some land-owners, as soon as we get the OK we'll get the word out.

Dogs are not allowed on the BSA property but I'm not sure of the others

Registered for my first race this year. Spring Cleaning, Clydesdale class, should be fun. I've never done any type of racing and I have no illusions about where I'll finish but I'm sure it will be a blast. Hopefully if I maintain my riding and diet I won't be able to enter this class anymore.
