Darkhorse 40 2011

Jamis Bikes signed on early as a title sponsor to this years Darkhorse 40.
they will be at the race Sunday with there 26' trailer filled with a very special treat for Darkhorse racers.......

they will be presenting to you, ahead of interbike, a sneak peak at the 2012 line-up!!!

you will, with the exception of some select dealers, be the first people to lay eyes on these rigs!!

lots of cool new stuff will be on hand.. 29'r full suspension, 650b steel hardtails, 650b full suspension, ton's of carbon goodness, etc...

stop by the trailer and check em out!

Sweet!! Shimano will be there also so bug them and give chris your bike to fix when you break it 😀

luke, take some good pics. i WANT to like jamis b/c they are based in NJ and i'm still interested in the whole 650b thing.

I want someone to build me a FS bike with a 29" front wheel and a 650B rear wheel with Lenz or Tallboy style compact geometry suspension.

I'll take pictures. Hopefully it's dry, I'm sick of wet Stewart pictures, need something different. So do the customers.

forecast for montgomery is mostly dry with a chance of puddles.

I dont think I will regognize Stewart if its dry! Last time I raced at Stewart and it was dry It was the DH40 2 years ago and I bonked so bad I dont remember what is was like 🙂

Does anybody have the capability to load the course map into a quick .pdf, jpeg or something and post it here? My office sucks and my network police block the Garmin site. I'd like to print out a map so I at least have an idea of what's going on before I get there on saturday to pre ride.

with 9 billion people starting, you need a way to break up the field, the fire road is perfect for that.

Pre-rode tonight. Five A-holes on motos were in there tearing up some of the pristine singletrack (thought they were no longer authorized?). Did a lap in about 1:50 ride time- a little slower than I expected, but it is what it is.

Is it just me or does the course seem tougher/slower this year than last? Less road sections (other than the long stretch at the start). The second half will definitely hurt on a rigid SS with a big gear. No real sustained climbs but plenty of Stewart punchy ones. Fun though- I like the fact that it's slightly different every year. It was nice to ride Major Mike when it wasn't a river of mud.

See you all on Sunday.
