the safety factor of the top tube seems to have some appeal.
on the other hand, if you hit something with your head looking there, expect a superman ??
No, the new Treks have a knock block system built into the headset/stem which prevents the fork from spinning due to the new straight down tube design. Plus I have all three spacers under the stem so there would be plenty of clearance should I crash hard enough for the knock block to fail. Will your bars hit/crush it if you crash and they spin?
Why do you flip your bike over? Looked like you had the equipment from previous threads, no? Can't hook seat on a branch to hang if needed while on trail? Serious question...I stuck with the top tube mount since the computer would be smashed into the ground when I flip my bike over to take my front wheel off if I have it mounted to the bars or stem.
AH...I also use the 20mm axle adapter so the forks are better supported and it doesn't clamp directly on my axle.

Looking at it really shouldn't be an issue. I really only have it to keep track of my miles since I'm always forgetting to start recording on Strava lol I may glance down now and again just out of curiosity to check my speed or the time. It should definitely have a higher survival rate on the top tube in the event I bite itI hope mounting computer on the top tube works for you. Personally, I think it will be a lot harder to look down to view it than if it were mounted on the handlebars or the stem (if your stem was longer).
Your need to flip the bike (re: transportation prep) would seem to make mounting computer on the top tube the better placement. Also, it will hopefully be more protected on the top tube, so that would be a plus.
Good luck!
I was waiting for something like this lol
