Chain Stretcher

Did three laps this morning. Love the course. Much faster than previous years. Still plenty technical. Love the flat-out speed down Neds, and SIS is way better in that direction. The finish with the climb up Crossover then the bomb down Yang is absolutely mint. Even the Limbo climb isn't bad.

Believe it or not, there's more room to pass than you think. I passed several people last year through the water crossings on Monster, and I'm not sure where I found the room, but I did. The wide but technical climbs offer up multiple lines too.

It's always a race that tests bike handling as much as fitness. Nothing different this year even though it's faster and shorter. Can't wait.

There should be plenty of room to pass. More double track / fire road then in other years. Plenty of nice singletrack as well.

Hope you all enjoy it next weekend.

Yeah that was pinksock up on the ledge on the orange bike. He did that twice so I'm not sure which time you saw him. The one was about 20ft and probably ridable but I picked him up from college and didn't want to return him broken. The 2nd time was a good 35ft, but it was really hard to start from there. The roller really started like WAY the hell up the mountain. It is a really really cool spot, probably something like 80ft of slickrock roller that lands you on the yellow trail by the bridges towards the end of the loop. I'd love to see someone ride that, looks really impressive.

I rode it yesterday. It was fun, but difficult. Then again, I'm a beginner, almost everything is difficult. I fell about 4 times, probably from going too slow. This was my first time at Blue Mountain, and it is a great place. Oh, another thing I noticed was that the ground was dry, after riding in mud all summer the dry ground was a nice change.

I can't wait for this one...

Looks like possible rain in the forecast for most of this week... does anyone know how well Blue Mtn. drains... Is there any chance the trails might be dry by Sunday if we get some on/off rain over the next few days?

Then again I've never had the pleasure of riding that place when it was completely dry, so maybe I'll be better off with slick rocks and damp soil. :hmmm:

I really need to get to blue on a 6 inch travel bike with my full face helmet. I'll ride anything there if someone would be willing to lend me a bike. I'm stoked for the race, luckily my class leaves first so there will be less traffic. My goal is to be first in the woods.

Last year's blue mtn race was in the rain. People's opinions will vary, but for me, I thought it was harder than racing the stewarts muck hole this year. Super slick, and muddy. The rock faces were like ice. Do your best no rain dance.

Ill lend you my DH bike, but I want a permission slip from your mother 😉

I would agree. Sport race was much better for the 2nd lap than the first but still pretty tricky (at least for me)

I'd say similar to allumuchy north but with more rock, but ridable big rocks

So, is anyone here? No norm, Jim, ironick, ben... WTF ha.
I saw pinksock and I think be was in front. Utah drove me up, what other hooligans am I missing?

You saw me 😀 Well after I yelled at you from above. That was an awesome spot you were setup in. I can't wait to see the pictures.
