2011 GF Rig

The misfit is a great deal. The price, quality, and ride of that frame cant be touched. That frame made me like hardtails again. (after riding a niner air 9 and hating it).
And its got sliders.

All that said, id still take the rig.
 
Canadian AL frame is on sale $550. 24 frames/24 hours which ever comes first.

This is going to be hard to pass up....
 
I went for the original AL frame it got it for $385 couldn't beat that price.Also got the fork and bars, all under $500...
 
The sale for the ALC was over on the 13th. He is offering a 6.6% off on orders under $500 and 13.3% off on orders over...
 
Another vote for the misfit,Great frame at an affordable price.Bought a left over frameset for big savings.My exclusive ride since building it up.

What niner air 9 was it? scandium or carbon?

Since GF/Trek scrapped the EBB the Rig seems like the obvious choice. I really want to check out the G2 geometry and for the money I don't think there is a better bike. I am assuming I can convert the wheels to a tubleless set up...right?
There are cheaper frames on the market(on-one, vassago, haro mary) but these are cromoly steel which are a lot heavier. My mind is 98% made up with the Rig, just want to see if anyone has this bike(2011 Rig w/slider dropouts).
Also I know I could go with Reynolds steel but these frames are more expensive(I could buy complete bike for what I'd pay for frame).

Funny. For the last 3 weeks I've been looking at a lot of SSs and have exactly your same criteria. I was leaning towards a Karate Monkey build b/c I thought the Rig was a geared bike but this Wed a friend got me out of my ignorance. Now I pretty much made my mind on this one too (although I won't be buying it just yet). BTW, I like much better the color scheme in the 2011 and the horizontal dropouts vs. the vertical ones in the 2010.
 
Slider drops

I have the new Fisher Superfly SS (Fisher Collection). It uses the same system as the '11 rig. I find it works well, but after changing cogs and ridding a little, the chain sets in and loosens up. Once tightened up you are good to go from then on. I generally just ride around my block which is a little hilly and make the adjustment. This would happen on my older rig with the EBB and my Rennen rings, but again its a quick adjustment once things 'set' in. I would recommend the boys down at bicycle tech, Lincoln Park if you in the market. They will hook you up. Ask for Rich or Scott.

Holy crow where have I been. You know where I am gonna go here and think you need to arrange a date to come test ride the awesomeness that is misfit. It's not just a bike but a lifestyle. Honestly it's geo bleeds SS and is unlike others with a lower bb makes you sit down inside the wheels unlike most. It does not feel harsh at all. With 3 choices of AL (twn.) ALC (Cnd.) and Fe (N. Am.) you can find the right price. Seriuosly you can't beat the price of the rig complete but you need to test out your options.

It is a horizontal slot dropout 29er, with a hanger to go geared. They stopped production of this model. The new ones will have changeable dropouts. Should be available after the first of the year.

I am leaning towards the rig but would like to hop on a misfit. I'll have to come up to mooch so we can swap bikes, + I am overdo for a mattybfat ride.😉
 
What about Niner air 9 carbon? I like the idea of being able to run it SS and geared. Anyone have any experience with this frame?

I picked up my '11 Rig last Sat. from Bicycle Tech. One ride on it so far, a night ride at that. But it sure is a sweet riding bike. I think I will be very happy with this bike.
