Things that make you frown :(

Seems about normal for that station... The current Google Maps image: I know I'd shit myself if I rolled into that station with my big van and an empty 35-gallon diesel tank - a fill up would be well over $200.

    New E-bike legislation in NJ

He's not wrong... the problem is the responsible manufacturers already comply. The ones that are just in for a quick $$ and DGAF... don't and won't... The max-watt race is definitely something manufacturers should be following.

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

Right... by most accounts, the US started this war back in 1952 when the CIA ousted the elected leader and installed the Shah...

What have you done to your bike today?

You should see my living room. It basically looks like a bike shop exploded... but yeah - I live alone.

Things that make you frown :(

I was wondering about that as well... my garage driveway is "just" long enough to fit the MINI and the minivan without a bumper hanging into the sidewalk, but I have to get them really close - pretty much touching. I don't know if it's an ordinance here in PA as well, but it just seems to be...

Things that make you frown :(

That could garner a fine in some locations. There are sidewalks on both sides of my street and it's rare when any of them not cleared within 24 hrs. of the snow stopping. Even the in front of the house at the end of the street that nobody lives in. My neighbor has a big snow blower and...

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

Trump and McDonald's have been a thing since his first term, so I have no hesitation believing the post was intended as a positive. The mere smell of a McDonald's burger makes my stomach churn so if I'd been at that table I would have been green trying to hold down my breakfast...

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

If Iran really wanted nukes, I have suspected for years Russia would sell them as much as they would want for a few dozen drones or some other deal...

    Tariffs...what to make of them.

I didn't watch it. I have a hard time listening to the self-serving posturing of any POTUS, but I especially didn't want to listen to the orange buffoon ramble incoherently for hours on end.

Help with chain compatibility, what is the least number of chains to be in the tool box!

I agree about getting a butt-load of master links. In many cases that will be fastest way to get a bike operating again rather than replacing the entire chain. Personally, I have a bunch of SRAM 12 spd Transmission links, a bunch of 12S Shimano links, and a number of leftover 11 spd links...

What wine are you drinking now?

I used to go to lunch with a coworker who typically had 3 glasses of a Pinot Noir during lunch. I miss that place - Southside in South Brunswick. Usually a good tap selection and the food was pretty good for a bar.

    The DIY thread - DIYourself

It may depend on how old it is. I have a lawnmower I bought... 15 years ago - maybe 20? ...and every few years it doesn't want to start, so I take the carb off, take it apart, clean gunk out of it with carb cleaner and put it back together and back on the mower. Really basic - no rebuild kit...

Things that make you go Wow 😲

Well... looking at the Blue website, an all-access season pass is $699. There is also a "peak-to-peak" option for $200 more that adds Camelback. Looking at the daily ticket prices, if you plan to ski there more than 10 days, the season pass pays for itself. Plus, that pass appears to give you...

    NJ Backcountry Skiing Spots????

If there is enough snow, pretty much anywhere we ride mtn bikes can be for back country skiing. Back in the late 90s when we consistently got a ton of snow every year, I started telemark skiing on the Wissahickon trails. More recently, I have skied at 6 Mile Run and I also did some XC skiing...

What have you done to your bike today?

My first touring rig was a Panasonic 10 spd. Granted, I was 14 and didn't really know any better. Amusingly, I still have the Cannondale panniers I had on that bike, although I haven't used them since the mid 90s. After watching Katy Winton do a (sort of) bike packing trip of the BC Trail on...
