Really disappointed with Germany...ZERO chances...I guess what, 2 shots on goal?? WTF! Nothing like last game vs Argentina. And to receive a goal from a corner kick!! Lack of concentration in missing the man coming in from behind, Puyol, not to take anything away from his header, it was a great, deadly strike.
Perhaps Germany missed their lucky charm Muller. Schweinsteiger left everything on the field and you can see the devastation, he refused to leave the field still in shock. He is the greatest German player of this moment, didnt score a goal, but he was key in the German midfield.
Spain played a very good game and deserved to win. Looks like their level of play is gaining momentum. Iniesta continues to impress me, only one goal, but like Schweintsteiger he is key in Spain's midfield and touches almost every ball.
Some people told me its a surprise that Spain won. I dont think so. If you look at each position, Spain is a better team (man to man). Spain are the current Euro 2008 champions, granted they didn't start the WC with an impressive game and they even opened up with a loss vs Switzerland, but still, you knew once the team 'clicked' they were a force to be reckon with.
I gotta say, the two better teams from the Wolrd Cup and the qualifiers are on the final and it will make for a great match. Holland and Spain were the only two teams to qualify to the world cup undefeated (not even ties) Holland only allowing 2 goals during qualifiers!!
