rode Wissahickon yesterday for the first time in atleast 4 years after riding there a few times a month for years. Rode with a group of 4. Didn't realize I was the guide until we pulled in the lot. Put togther a 9+ mile loop w/o getting lost, it's amazing how you remember even the smallest thing like a root section or a few nice berms. Had alot of fun and will probably start riding there more once the kids start school again.😀

how is this place as far as getting lost? I go to Temple University and since I just started riding, this will be my new 'home' location. I have never been there and have no idea where to park. Any suggestions?

Pretty hard to get lost here. Its basically a long, skinny oval loop. Forbidden Drive and the creek are down below. The ST runs along the upper part of the gorge on both sides. There are several offshoots that go back down to Forbidden Drive (the jogging/road/bike path at the bottom)

I would highly recommend Wiss. It's one of those places that I never get bored of. There is a bit of techy stuff, flowy single track and some good climbs and descents.

Most folks park at the Valley Green Inn http://www.valleygreeninn.com/
This spot is pretty much smack dab in the middle of the loop. It's also the safest. I have a spot on Lincoln Drive that I usually Park.

Yeah it's a plastic snap-on bracelet. I keep mine on my seatpost.

When you buy it online they will give you a temporary print out that will work until you receive it in the mail. I was stopped once and pulled it out of my pocket to show the guy.

The 20 bones is worth it. Especially if you are going to ride there regularly.

yeah I will order one before I decide to head out. I will prob check the place out sunday with a friend. Maybe the Temple cycling team has some people on it that ride here. that would be great for me since I hate riding alone most of the time.

Good deal man. I would have given you a tour this weekend if I wasn't already going to the Allamuchy camp out. I love Wiss and I'm sure you will too.

definately park at the Valley Green Inn lot. from this lot you have 4 different places to start a big loop. I used tlove the Indain Trail and plan on riding that next time and if you go left past the Inn you'll ride the gravel path for a bit until you have a climg up on the right, that's where alot of people start a loop. as far as getting lost, most places where there's a fork in a trail there's signage. I'm off the thurs/fri so I might hit it up.
