Whats your hydration pack?

do you have that with you? picture please.

No it's in jersey but here's a pic of the pack. Australian brand that we got in Sydney but similar to Osprey and other brands sold here

Been riding the whole season with a fanny pack, the Source Hipster. The hose and bite valve that came with it sucked, but I swapped the whole thing out with a Camelbak hose and bite valve. It fits a tube, tire levers, compressed air and regulator, car keys and iPhone. Everything fits tightly, but fits. The whole thing sits nicely on the hips, I never felt the need to use the harness that came with it. Fast DH's, tech, jumps, etc. it never really shifted. Nice not to have a pack on when the weather was hot. I may use a Camelbak again when the weather gets cooler for warmth.

im testing out camelbaks warranty, my 10+ year old bladder has started leaking around the cap, put in for a replacement and bite valve since mine is getting gross finally. will report back if i have any problems.

My backpack/hydration pack began hurting my back while riding, so I downsized to a water bottle in a cage on the bike, and one in a pocket of my jersey. emergency tube + CO2 + multitool in under-seat pouch. Back much happier!!

Good to know, thanks. @i ride after 5 had one of these (last year??), I'd be interested to hear his long term take on it also.

I have two. An old Vaude pack that I believe is long out of production for long rides when I may carry a lot of water/food/spares/beer. It has a 100oz bladder and room for a couple of water bottles. For shorter rides I have a 10 year old Camelback with a 70 oz bladder and a bit less room for food/spares.

for now, camelbak rogue, i hate it. looking at new ones and was thinking the mule, but seems like osprey is getting high praise in this thread. ive never heard of them but ill look into them.

If I use them, I have 2. Dakine Builders pack with a 100 oz CB bladder for trail work days, and one of the CB Lumbar packs (model forgotten) for regular days.

I love the Osprey packs and new zip top bladder but hate the bite valves. The opposite is true for Camelbak (for me). Anyone mix-n-match brands tubes/valves? Older versions tubing was really far off from each other but it's been getting a lot closer recently.

I have a Teton Sports pack from Amazon and it's pretty good. When the bladder decides to go south on me I plan on getting an Osprey bladder.

Camelbak Octane XCT. I replaced the bladder with the heavier duty one from camelbak and the tube with the neoprene sleeve and valve cover. I also rigged the tube so I could clip it with a magnet to the strap so the hose wasn't just dangling. I've used this over the years on some serious obstacle courses and it's held up, with only a few tears from barbed wire but nothing compromising. Super comfortable too, no chafing what so ever, even after 10 hours. What makes it for me are the side pouches that are accessible without taking the pack off.

The recommendations above all seem pretty large. Any recommendations for a minimalist pack with 1-2 small posters for basic tools, tube, etc. Don’t really want something slinging around on my back. .75-1.5liter. Would like to stay in $50-75 range.

Gonna break the budget limit (as with most bike stuff suggestions) but I am very happy with the Osprey Raptor. Used my REI member check last year to pick one up.
