Anyone know where to find a cheap truing stand? I want to learn how to build up a wheel but do not want to invest a huge amount of money. Any suggestions?
I have the Feedback one:

It's not that awesome or anything, but does the job. You don't need a dishing tool (for rear wheel) since you can just flip the wheel around.
Park Tools one is the one everyone uses but it costs $$ and I believe you will also need a dishing tool if you want to do things right.
You might also want to get a spoke tension meter, although you could just go with the plucking/sound test.
Theoretically, you don't need a truing stand at all, you could just use a zip tie on your frame as a reference. I tried this but was too much of a pain and it's hard to watch TV while you're truing your wheel. Plenty people make their own truing stands also .. google it for examples.
I use jdog. He does a great job.
I think the OP's opener was he wanted to give a go at building his own wheels which I say go for it, it's extremely rewarding.
There is a PDF book worth every penny in getting you started, including plans to build you own truing stand. It also shows you how to make some building tools with an easy to read How to build perfect wheels.

Thanks, BTW how do you like Misfit DiSSent, I am thinking about getting that frame.
Ha ha asking me how I like the misfit is like asking me how I like beer and ice cream 😀 Don't you know I'm The Evil Empire Pusher south of the Canadian boarder...

I cannot find this anywhere but what size rear hub is needed? I am looking at Hope hubs but not sure of the size. I do not want to get a SS hub in case I use the wheelset for a different bike.
