Norm has given more weight to the past 48 hours - so it will quickly reflect current conditions - we'll look at the math of it as we assess how it is working. i like the idea of a couple bad reviews coming in
would dominate the numbers....
 
Rain events are going to be hard.

I think you have to start with this premise. Anyone who rides while it's raining simply DGAF so we can't dial this in to their needs.

I think everyone else will "wait & see" and the 48 hour limit will help move the rating quickly. Also it depends how dry the trails were. We've all been pleasantly surprised at how well Six Mile & CR have drained in the recent past.

Having said that it's always a WIP.

Dickerson Mine isn't really a destination park in my mind. Not enough mileage if I remember correctly.
 
i think if we want the rain to show the conditions change faster we all just need to do our best to rate daily (or as close to daily as possible). more input = better results.
 
I think peoples perceptions of what is good, excellent, or bad are going to vary greatly. What will keep this real time and realistic is if folk post honest conditions

4 Perfect = all dry and hard packed
3 Mostly good = like Allaire was Saturday morning....mostly dry with a couple of damp spots with no real chance of trail damage
2 Not great = wet, with puddles....please give at least 12 hours after rains end to re-access
1 Terrible = total f-in slopfest like 6 mile and CR last week standing water and trail damage...Stay away, it's too muddy!

but i will use MBMs strategy and tell her that it makes me happy - in return i will have to watch

Am I seeing a pattern here, that some of @Norm 's go-to are star/space related such as Star Wars & Space Balls? Perhaps @arangov3 is fortunate that may already be a Wookie on the board, so maybe that's why he wasn't assigned a rookie avatar…….or an Avatar avatar.
 
@jackx I'm sure I'll come up with something dumb enough to gain acceptance into the mtbnj circle jerk club, or whatever it may be called.

Fun fact I have never seen anything star wars out side of robot chicken or family guy. It's on my things to do list

I was born in 81 and never watched star wars or anything related, always gets the weirdest looks from people when I tell them. Actually I've seen a bunch of scenes from one of the movies, which is directly related to why I never took the time to sit down and watch a movie all the way through. There was a Brady Bunch chapter in my life, and my pseudo step brother watched one of the star wars movies 24/7 for a time. I didn't like him, so I transposed that dislike to the movie.

Anyway, mud.
