The Guitar Player Thread.

Oh boy... more gear I don't really need, but still really want... although I have been looking at various load-box options for a while now and this one checks off a lot of boxes the other options available don't in a single unit.

I haven't seen the MSRP yet, but being Friedman, I know it won't be cheap...

And this looks really cool and potentially useful...

A stereo power amp pedal that can easily power a rig...

Neat. I wonder why he's selling it... although maybe to downsize... or I wonder if the insurance costs have increased to the point where he wants out. He's known to be financially savvy by musician standards.

I watched a tour of the studio on Premiere Guitar a few years ago and IIRC, this is sort of a foyer to the main studio area (where there are even more guitars) and behind the cabinet doors on the left is his collection of effects pedals.

When's the last time you bought music? That's why.....

Unfortunately you are in the minority. Funny, I don't think I have a working CD player. And it is by far the best audio format.
My cars will always have a CD player. Just one of the reasons why I am unlikely to buy a new car anytime soon... regardless of the price.

I go to enough shows to support people that way. Others I'll buy sheet music or merch or something like that. I have a big enough box of Meshuggah and Dream Theater stuff that I definitely paid for an album to get recorded by now. Not to mention the pile of signature guitars 🤣

If you have a DVD player, most of them will play CDs as well. I have mine connected to my A/V receiver and it works, although I'll admit I don't use it that way very often.

There seems to be a growing number of people buying physical media again as backlash against the "you don't own shit" reality of streaming and many digital formats.

I still buy paper books as well... and type this with a 7' tall by 9' wide wall of shelves behind me with enough books on them to keep me in reading material pretty much for the rest of my life (and I keep buying more). If something happens and we lose the internet tomorrow, between my guitars, bikes, cars and books, I have plenty to keep me occupied after I get through the withdrawal period.

I didn't grow up thinking I'd turn into a curmudgeon, but here I am...
