Shoe suggestions

Hi gals

Would like your input and suggestions on a new pair of mtb shoes...

I bought a pair of Shimanos in the spring and they are shot...The sole is separating from the shoe (which also happened to a friend's pair of Shimanos) and time to replace.

My feet are small, wide and a high instep...Barney Rubble feet unfortunately. I need a decent shoe that will hold together longer than 6 months.

Thoughts and ideas?

I've had the Specialized moto diva 2 1/2 years. I used them on the road for the first year until I bought my first road shoe. These things have taken a beating and they're still going. You can tell they've been worn but are far from dead. I just upgraded with a new pair of Specialized MTB with carbon😀 in the spring because I got a great offer.

From day 1 fit was perfect and the shoes were comfortable without a breaking in period. Just as with my other Spec shoes I found that every pair fit the same which made my feet very happy. I don't need a wide but they do carry them up to EE in the pro versions. I can't imagine they'd be anything but great for you too.

I've had the Specialized MotoDiva for a couple years now too. They're great shoes, I really can't complain. They definitely take a beating, I tend to do that to all my bike stuff. They haven't stretched out or anything either. I definitely recommend them.

I love Sidi mtb shoes. Got the Dominator's recently & also have the Sidi Bullet 2, which are cheaper. I've tried on other shoes but they never fit right. Sidi's fit me perfectly. I ride road w/ them too. Just a thought. Try a bunch on before you decide.

Specialized. Compared to Shimano, they have held up better and are more comfortable. Sidis are nice but $$$.

I'm real happy with my new Sidis. The extra $ is worth it. Never will I buy Shimanos again.

Sidi's are great quality and they come in many sizes and width's, but are mucho pricey, will wear out on rocks in one season, and are not stiff enough unless you purchase the carbon sole $$$. Spec motadiva are a great value, fit many women and are fairly durable and stiff. I am on my 3rd pair, and all are in useable condition.

Shoes are personal choice to go with what feels good on your foot

My first shoes were Specialized and they lasted a long time. Then I went to a few others, but those that stand out:

Diadora - comfy, cheap, and last a long time. I still have them even though they are mangled...can't throw them away.
Nike - comfy, but I just got them this spring and they are on their way out already
Specialized - now I am back to this brand...just bought another pair cause I love their products

In addition to fit, I advise you to look at the soles. I have had some shoes that were super slippery when I walked in them so now I always make sure the sole is a bit more grippy and rubbery.

+1 more for Sidi Dominators. I too have a very high instep and I have been using Sidi Dominators for years. My current pair are> 5 years old with 1000s of miles on them (4-5,000+). They have been soaked over and over, been stuck in hot cars while wet and cold icy streams, covered with mud, mud and more mud. They are just now starting to get worn out (just the velcro straps) and I'm thinking maybe I'll get a new pair this year. I will definitely pay the extra $ for shoes that hold up. I will also stick with Dominators and not upgrade to the Dragons. You should be able to find them for $200-$250. I also use Sole heat moldable shoe inserts to really get a custom fit. http://www.yoursole.com/products/footbeds/

I've had my Specialized shoes for a couple years now. They are just now starting to show some signs of wear, but they should last through the winter.
