severe tree damage

Took a hike this afternoon... it's a disaster. Lost count of how many 2 - 3 ft diameter trees I had to climb over. Will take many guys with bigass chain saws to clear that mess.

Thanks for the trail report. We have trail maintenance this Saturday, so we'll get on this. Hope you can make it and introduce yourself on Saturday.

Is the crew allowed to run chainsaws? Or as gov Christie said 'easier to ask for forgiveness than permission'

Saw tm post. So probably not 🙁

Only county employees can run power equipment. But there is tons of branch clearing that we can all help with.

I should be there... hopefully our electricity is restored by then. I only hiked part of the trails- maple flats to C up the mountain to ridge trail marker 4, then ridge clockwise back to the entrance. I'd be very surprised if sections of boardwalk on the other side of ridge aren't demolished by trees... maybe we'll get lucky there.

I assume the focus will be clearing downed trees and branches on the trails but there is a very large tree uprooted on the ridge trail about a half mile from the entrance that opened a gaping hole with large rocks displaced eating into the trail. Would be very dangerous for a biker coming down that section.
