Second Life Bikes - a plug for a great organization
Kerri, you ROCK!!!
I finally paid a visit to Second Life Bikes a few Saturdays ago, and the only way I can describe it is impressive. Kerri and her crew of volunteers have created something really awesome. Their mission is simple: to get more people (especially kids) on bikes. It's just great to see so many bikes lined up ready to be ridden (again), and there's a wide variety of bikes available (something for everyone). In addition to having bikes that kids can work towards owning, they also have bikes for sale to the general shopping public. I picked up a beautiful (and I mean gorgeous) Nishiki mixte bike for my daughter Kelly at college for a spectacular price.
My friend Kevin and I brought a few bikes for donation, along with extra parts that were cramping my garage (and my marriage)... I'm sure they'll get put to good use here.
If you haven't made it to Second Life Bikes yet, you really should. Kerri, keep up the GREAT work!
