OOS MOGA

Gotta support that collapsing economy!!! Honestly, I really need Justyna to get her unemployment check I think it has been like 8 weeks with no updates. That shit is an utter mess.
Took me 5 weeks just to move from pending to filed. Still no money though.

Genuine question but not sure where to post.
I’ve done a couple long trail rides of just under 40 miles and by the time I get done, my bum is shot and my head is dizzy from running out of water. Question is: am i gaining anything by doing these long rides? I told myself many years ago that I was going to do the routes and just got the strength to do them. That’s the only reason. I must be gaining some muscle by pedaling this 37lb full suspension bike with 2.35 tires. Just not sure exactly what the benefits are.

You mean to say 40 miles or 40 minutes. Hahahahaha. Non of these fools ride that kinda miles. For real tho, good on ya for doing it and I imagine one of the racer/ex racer types that secretly lurk this thread will likely help you out. All the best.

If you don’t enjoy it don’t do it, you’re prob not gaining anything other than possible endurance especially if not done frequent enough, but if you enjoy it good on, and keep em up and frequency. I am sure you are hurting after those ride I am sore after 12

Where do you do 40m trail rides?
Anyways... Used to do long road rides... 60-100 miles every few months (like 2x a year lol) a couple of years ago. I didn't do them enuff to see any benefit. Was fun... But painful as well.

This is probably obvious, but don't run out of water. Bring more or refill somewhere during the ride. The more you ride, the more your bum will get used to it. Using moisturizer or chamois cream can help too.

Just not sure exactly what the benefits are.

I like to do long rides. For me the benefit is I can ride my bike in the woods for 8-10 hours and do cool shit. Not everyone has the time or desire to do this though.

Hey The POS I cant make a ride tomorrow or date with wife, I have to finish a cabinet install tomorrow so I can get paid.

They are just rail trails or the McDade trail in pa. Some nice sections, but that wears away with the agony. I feel like a road ride on a road/cx/gravel bike would be perfectly fine at those miles, however I do HATE the riding position. But doing high mileage (and averaging 10.5mph) on gravel, dirt, and stone is just extremely hard it seems. Plus there's the whole "oh crap, I have to pedal back to the car. On the same trail." 20 miles seems to be my max for an enjoyable ride so far.

The Indians are back! Found this on the trails behind the high school. Pretty good construction, quite solid.
