NJ State Park Regs

Anyone else out there aware of the upcoming changes to the State Park regulations? They are changing wording from "fancy" to "stunt" riding and prohibiting motor assisted bikes. The definition of stunt riding includes curb jumping and wheelies. The document is 82 pages and contains a lot of fee increases and is trying to prohibit certain vehicles from driving on the beach at Island Beach State Park. The comment period on this set of changes ends 9/14/12. Also included is wording to allow Parks to collect new fees for parking at events.

do have a link to the proposed changes?

i'm with bart.

the only change for riding is for "stunt riding" and that is you can't do it on roads in parks.

think mtb is safe - since it is "tradition" riding in the style of mtb.....

they do have a sense of humor
(sometimes referred to as “crotch rockets”).

and now that ice boating is expanding.......

thanks for the heads-up

Brat😉 is right, there is no real danger to us. We have contacted them to further clarify "stunt and fancy" riding. I think they are referring to street style and don't want curbs and rails ground down.

I also find their use of the term "crotch rocket" rather amusing.

I liked the crotch rocket term also. The thing that caught my attention was the new fees and increase to existing one. Think about how much they could make at KVSP for the H2H race parking.

Right now they charge nothing for parking there. I am sure there is a decent cost to the park to run the race there (post race clean up, mowing, etc.) I am fine with a reasonable special event user fee.

That said, they did not mention charging for parking at KVSP. They did specifically mention Allamuchy State Park for events at the concert field at Waterloo. Once again, that is understandable. Not to get too political but I am ok with "pay to use" vs raising taxes or cutting back on park funding as alternatives.
