i have a suntour stock front fork that came on my giant... it doesnt perform as well as i'd like and ive actually bottomed it out. made a horrid noise. just lookin for some suggestions on an upgrade. keep in mind im in college, work 35 hours a week for free because of clinical practice leaving little time for paid work , so bang for my buck is big.

Tora 318's can be found for a good price. They are probably the most inexpensive fork that is worth upgrading to. They are on the heavy side, but they ride great.

Another option is to keep an eye out for a used fork. If you're patient you can score a great fork for ~$200-300.

What Chris said, I picked up my Rockshox Reba on this very board for a price I would rather not say out loud 🙂

Or if you really want to "keep it real" put a rigid for on it and cut your losses. A rigid for would be better than a crappy suspension fork, and it would be cheaper too 🙂

😀 y not suggest putting on wooden wheels and spring seat absorber for comfort. i think that's as real as it can get..

I also had a terrible suntour on my trek 3900 and found a Tora 318 on this board (Thanks again Chris). Keep your eyes open. If you wait you will get it. BTW, I havent ridden many aftermarket forks but this Tora 318 and is pretty smooth.
