Mtn. Man Biathalon

Race

Race is cancelled. Just kidding. Motown in that 3-6 inch band of snow. Could go either way. I dont think the snow will be melted from the trails though so what gives? Personally I dont give a shit, give me my sweatshirt and a bagel and I'd be happy to go home and jump in my hottub. Here is a serious question however, whose going to do trail maintanence after the race cuz this place is going to be tracked up well with all the wet weather. In fact, Lewis Morris might not ever be the same. Just cancel the race and give the money to Wounded Warrior Foundation or something and then we can just write our fees off on our taxes rather than fuck up the trails.

I swung by today and my mileage only comes out to about 12 miles total. The run is about 1.75 miles each and each lap of the yellow loop is only 4.4 miles. Not sure how they get the higher miles for the ride unless they go off of the yellow. Any ideas?

Pete, THanks again for the tour of the place. I had a great time. I hope we get more rain than snow for sunday though 😱

Chris-I might be up for a beer afterwards, it'll be a post-game call.
I'll be on a black specialized HT wearing snowshoes.

awesome. Yea, I hear ya on the last minute call. We'll see how everything goes and take it from there 😎

Were you there around 4, doing a run/ride/run? We saw someone practicing the course at the same time we were riding it.

Oh cool. Yea, that was me that was riding with him. I was on the white rig. Looked like you had a good pace going!!

Website update

The website has been updated and now says "snow or shine"...

Assuming I can get down route 15 I am still in.

I wonder how this is really going to play out. If the trails are in any conditions as the roads are right now, its going to be a mess. On one side of my house, they closed the road b/c half of a tree fell, and on the other side, a huge limb is down on the neighbors lawn. Hope it doesnt get much worse.

Pete, how are things up by you? I've been standing out on the driveway, listening to trees fall as I push snow off the driveway.

They're a little off on the advertised distances. I logged 1.9 for each of the run sections and 4.4 for each loop on the bike last year.

It's a little pricey but a lot of fun.

I did a winter trail run series there, so they do a pretty good job in supporting events in the snow. We just have rain down at the shore. It should make for an interesting race if it is on tomorrow, looking forward to it. No problem at least keeping the beer cold.
