Mountain Saddle advice/recommendations

So I need some saddle advice/recommendations, especially from the professionals.
My riding style is mostly XC but I like to ride everything from time to time. 😉

A little background:
2-3 yrs ago when I started riding more frequently again after many years, I was having issues with nerve numbness/pain due to my saddle geometry.
I worked on fitting the bike better which helped but didn’t totally fix the problem so I researched saddles. I tried a bunch and ended up with a Surfas RX saddle. It works great but is HUGE.
Well, it’s starting to get pretty torn up now so time for a new saddle. With a bit more knowledge under my belt at this point, I’m pretty sure I can get away with something a bit smaller with the correct width for my sit bones and the right shape for a correct fit.
The A$$ometer shows my sit bone measurement to be 146mm 😀
Any help and/or recommendation would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

-Mike

My rocket v has done me well. I used to have the silverado and I thought that was the best thing since sliced bread.. But the rocket v turned out to be the butter that goes on the sliced bread for me 🙂

I've had the Laser V, Silverado, and Devo. The Laser was super comfy but bulky and somewhat restrictive on fore/aft movement. The Devo is a friggin' postage stamp! But ok. I thought the Silverado was the best compromise between light and comfort, but looking at the Rocket Tim might be correct. That "flip up" at the rear lip looks like it might be the ticket.

The Selle Flite 1990 saddle always worked for me (since like '95-ish). I looked at the dimensions and bought a different saddle w/ the same dimensions - because, ya know, I had to get something "different".

Point being, if you have something that works, don't change it. Find something w/ the same dimensions if you need an aesthetical change.

i've swapped all my saddles with specialized. Ronin Experts on the road and cx bikes and a Phenom Expert on the niner. they are the best saddles i've used.

as danny from Marty's in Randolph likes to say "it's like the hands of an angel cupping your..."

Another vote for Sella SMP. It only took one ride to realize how much better sitting on only your sit bones can feel. There expensive, but personally I cant put a price on comfort, or health being a male. Find a shop to demo one.

Tried many different saddles over the years, and for a while WTB's were best......until the day Jdog talked me into a Selle SMP. Now they are on all of my bikes. Yes they are pricey, but worth every friggin penny.

I like the RocketV on the MTB when I am standing up more than on the road bike. But if I'm riding my MTB on the road with the RocketV for example and seated for like 1hr, it's not really that awesome.
