I never pushed bikes on my son but he took to them and he is starting to make his own path. Sometimes I see him do stuff where I know he thinks what I am doing is still cool and he is trying to do it better. I still have an edge (I think), but man, the gap is closing fast.

Almost 10 years after I got my old EVO (July 2016), a new EVO era has arrived:

I was at the point with the current bike that I need wheels (again) and really started to think if it made sense, most of the groupset was from 2017 and overall the bike has 39,000 miles on it.. The last two years I have been trying to hustle a new road bike but its a big jump because of disc brakes and while i considered mechanical to leverage my current shifters, I never found anything that seemed worth it. Enter the new EVO being released and a few things happening at the right time and all the sudden I have a current bike again. Fully revisited my fit with Don at Halters.

Two ride thus far and wow, this thing moves and with 30mm tires, feels like I am floating on air compared to the 28/25 of my old EVO.

The old EVO now becomes my son's bike and I have a list of maintenance items for that.

The jump in new road bikes is crazy. The wider tires are so much more comfortable. And the frames and wheels are also considerably more aero. It really does take a lot less watts to go just as fast.
Did you have the option for lightweight or aero? I think the old difference is the handlebars.

It came with aero bars and i think the round version is the lighter version. Some less grams aint helping me, lol.

I dont have power as a metric but perceived effort to speed feels good so far. Still need to ride it above 52 degrees.
