MCBP Opening Day

First off, "BIG UPS" to the trail team. They did a super job. Like Smokey mentioned, they should have put out a tip cup. The conditions were a little muddy, but ridable. There were a few spots where our tires disappeared in the mud. But thats part of the fun…(tomorrow should be better). I should have a video up soon.

Cool, I was wondering how it would be after the rain last night. I'll be there tomorrow!!

Good time for sure , like mike said muddy but rideable .. It got really nice and firm tho later in the day .. The lips and berms felt way better ... Super happy about the season pass 🙂

Who is going to MCBP tomorrow and when?

Still trying to figure out whether to race at Wawayanda, ride at MCBP, or attempt to do both.

I wound up doing both. Raced then flew over to MCBP once the results were posted (my name was missing, so good thing I waited).

I know it is just the start of the season by MC has gotten the trails into good shape. Warmed up on Greenhorn and then Breakout for a few runs and then ran into the Down Cycles guys. They took me over to Outlaw, Monarch, and Tempest? Way more fun and a lot easier than the blue trails for me. I'm not used to berms and man made jumps but the double diamond trails made me feel right at home.

Yeah, the trails on Saturday were pretty much terrible. Even though we worked the trails in, they are all rutted now, so there is a bunch of work for the trail crew. I hope that they are not done with Outlaw because that trail is just bad. It is supposed to be an easier route down, but the ledges before the road are STEEP.

My warm up run was booking it down Bushwack to Tempest to Frog Pond, and it was slippery to say the least. The warm winter allowed a glaze of that slick algae stuff to grow on the rocks...not fun.

Yea outlaw def is steep and it seems like the route they closed is better but oh well .. Tempest is fun and frog pond too .

Too wet to build up any speed for the jumps though. At least it was Saturday morning.

Things dried up pretty good on Sunday; most stuff was hard packed dirt. Only complaint would be that many lead ups to features and most berms had speed bumps from people braking too fucking much =)

Haha, and I thought the braking bumps were bad on Saturday! I can only imagine what another day of riding did to them...
