Leaving my bike outside

I dont have a garage or a shed big enough to store my bike.

It is on my covered porch. It is out of reach of rain, snow, sleet and other elelments. The only element that can get to it is the cold and wind.

Will the bike see any unneccesary abuse being on the covered porch?

Or should I make room for it in the house?

Yup, basically everyone here is going to tell you to bring the bike inside. Exposed to wind and heat will also cause your tires to split and any rubber components go bad due to UV rays. your paint can also start to fade.

even on the porch your cables and chain will suffer... Tyres will degrade also. A simple hook will get it up off your floor indoors.

Outdoor storage is tough on a bike for a few reasons.

Constant daily temperature changes cause condensation. Condensation in or on steel parts will cause corrosion. Condensation inside a steel frame will result in shortened frame life.

UV light will degrade plastic and rubber so things like tires, grips, and the saddle will be affected.

Security might be an issue as well. A friend in an urban area lost his Voodoo after it spent an unsupervised 45 minutes on his back deck.
