LAUNCH @ Spring Mountain video

Wow that def looks like a fun place , whats the address ? I would like to try it out soon .

Best way to get to Spring Mount: take PA Turnpike to NE Extension. Take NE Extension to Lansdale Exit (Exit 31). After you get off the exit, take a right turn onto Route 63/Sumneytown Pike. Take 63 up past Route 113 to the light with Landis Market on your left. Take a left at that road (I can't recall the exact name -- I think it's Shelly Road -- but it's definitely the road just past Landis Market.) Take that road all the way until it T's into Schwenksville Road, take a right. The sign for Spring Mount will be on your right shortly after that.

That's a great video, but you know what's funny? Half of what you were riding was on the XC course there! They've done a really great job rebuilding the bridges, though -- it looks great!

All the footage is from either Wally's Leg, High Life, Walt's Erector Set or the Toilet Bowl. We rode other trails but didn't always have the video running. We did see the XC trail markers but didn't ride them.

They definitely did a lot of work on the ladders and bridges since last year. You can see that the trail builders take a lot of pride in their work, making the most of only 450' of vertical.

Yeah -- I think the NEW XC course is different, but they used ot use a lot of the same lines (minus the drop-offs) for the XC courses when they raced there in the early 2000's. It was just one of those courses (like Bear Creek still is) where you just had to get it in your mind you were going to hurt afterward.

But you're totally right -- there has been a renaissance of sorts in this area the last few years for trail building. I think the VMB guys get a lot of credit, as do the Philly MTB crew. But whatever brought it on, trails in this area are being built really well and more often now than I recall form just a few years ago.

Looks like fun Jeff, I'll have to get out there next season. Some of those lines looked familiar from when I was last there in 2002.😱

not really sure how comparable it is to diablo (think riding on all the old diablo trails all day like BMW an so on) i do think it does have its own style of ride to it, its more technical then any other place ive ridden. The trail crew has transformed the place. Walt's erector set trail is on a level of its own, I've yet to clean that whole trail
