Killed Facebook Today

I've been mulling it over in my head for a few weeks now. Facebook, what is the value of this to me? Why the F do I go there on occasion and for what value to me?

My initial sign up intention was to communicate riding opportunities between friends and JORBA type stuff. Over time, it developed into a hodge podge of old classmates who I have little to no interest in. Some were nice to talk with again, but many were barely friends during high school, why are they in my "friend" list now..... :hmmm:

I hated rejecting friend requests. I don't like be that way, so I'd usually just say yes. Some would just keep sending the damn things over and over if I ignored the request anyway.

I finally decided today that I really don't need/want it, and I communicate with most everyone I ride with here anyway. I killed my account and feel good about it.

They don't make it easy to delete your account, but I found it.

I've always been a bit of a private person. Somehow I got sucked in.

I like to set up rides thru FB. I'll PM you my cell number so I can keep you in the loop. Btw one of your last acts on FB was making fun of me for fallin off that bridge hahahaha.

Hahah yeah, I noticed that your comments where missing today, Jay. So that explains it.

True...... 😛

Def. send it. I couldnt see facebook at work anyway, so it was tough to use during the weekdays.

Wednesday night road ride at 6pm by the way. 🙂

I always thought facebook was for girls and teens. I find little to no interest to want to be involved with people that I already don't want to be involved with...

I've never really had the urge to join FB either. Once in a while you feel like you're missing the party, but then I hear the recurring comments about high school acquaintances who want to be friends after 25 years of not thinking about them, and suddenly the urge to join goes away. When you factor in the documented unethical behavior of FB when it comes to customers privacy, I say no thanks.

Top ten reasons to quit FB.

But we're not in high school anymore. So it's socially acceptable to ignore them now. They really do go away.

I find it mildly useful to waste time there when all my other time wasting outlets have run dry. Most of my active friends are on mtbnj, but the photo streams are better organized and easier to follow.

I am honored to have a wall post from you before your demise 😀 and I'm glad they tied. If one won then I would have wanted the other to win.

I love Facebook 🙄 Apparently many of the girls I went to High School with are now porn stars and want to get re-aquainted. 😀
