Guys, if you manage to make some flyers/print-outs, I will help to post them around Verona, Jersey City and downtown NYC.

Just got the e-mail blast...

I ride through Morris County on a regular basis, including not so great parts of Morristown. I will keep a sharp eye out for it.

I wonder what the thief would say if he knew he stole the bike from a kid? I would love the opportunity to find him and ask (um, yeah right:getsome🙂 the question myself!

Don't forget people, LOOK FOR THE INDIVIDUAL COMPONANTS FOR SALE AS WELL> Sometimes thieves will strip the bike down and sell parts and junk the frame because it's too obvious. I read a story in Triathlete magazine that a $3000 set of wheels was found on Craig's list for $200. That's how they caught the guy who dumped the carbon frame in the woods.

Living in the area alot of times you see Landscapers Helpers (trying to be politically correct) riding bikes in the morning to work.

That last post isn't going to go over well.

The fact that tools were stolen would lead me to believe that the bike wan't necessarily the target. So the chances of seeing someone riding on a trail is slim. I would also guess that theif was over 17 years in age, because they wouldn't really care to steal tools.

politically correct? uh?

That last post isn't going to go over well.

I agree. Not at all.

I did some digging around myself...(I used the site:craigslist.com option to search in google, etc.) but refrained myself from posting unless I got something useful to post.

I will also keep an eye out...very important what Kevin_L said to watch out for parts. I hope you can recover from your losses.

sorry to hear, thats the worst feeling in the world..at first you think maybe i didnt put it here and come to the horrible realization that its been stolen. I am so paranoid about my carbon blur being stolen i bring it in and out of the house everytime i ride. If i take it on the road i always look around before i get to my house. People eye bikes and follow you home and come back and steal it. I live in a nice suburban neighborhood but i dont trust anyone. Good luck with your search.

Sadly I know just how horrible it feels. Back in March of 09 I had both my new TREK EX9 and my Litespeed Tuscany road bike stolen right out of my apartment during the day. I do hope you get yours back. Mine have yet to find their way home to me. "DEATH TO ALL BIKE THIEVES”!!!!! :2guns:

This is an awful thing. Get the message out to the other kids in the area to look for the bike. I will keep an eye out as well.
I hope when the guy is caught, they give him the maximum amount of years in jail. Hopefully 20.

This is horrible! I sent an eblast out to all the JORBA members as well. Probably a lot of duplicates from this sites blast, but more coverage the better. Good luck!

Ugh! Sometimes people can suck!
So sorry to hear that Kathy!
Can only say I'll watch for it on Patriots Path. I hope somehow it finds it's way back to your son!
