Sounds like they (VZW, or manufacturers, or manufacturers at VZW's request) have really locked down the latest round of phones?
 
It happens with every new phone. But the biggest sellers up until now, the samsung S series, were "easy"
HTC seems to always be difficult. But it can also be a good reason to blame for their tumbling market share. Samsung was decent with developers, up until the S4

You think their unlockability is impacting market share? Lol...

I think a better indicator is if you look at when the One was released for other carriers and then when the One was released on Verizon. Decisions like that are impacting the market share. This is my own opinion not Verizon's. 🙂
 
It could be, COULD.
I"m a phone dork, and a LOT of people ask me what phone to buy. I would never respond with "HTC" anything because of how shady they are with their technology and how absolutely god awful they are with updates.

I don't think rooting & romming affects market share. There is such a small segment of the market doing that anyway. If it was so popular I think there would be way more nexus devices out there.
 
Cyanogenmod may have more market share than ms it BlackBerry. So romming sure did effect market share.
 
He got the right one, he's not going to get experimental. And it's got good speakers to blast The Who out of.

We old guys learned to take things apart and put it back together without ytubes. Really are you a direction reader or do you just jump in? It's either in your blood or not. You happen to be old school somewhat.

I take it apart, struggle all day, either figure it out, or when I go to bed I cue up some YouTube videos to fall asleep and learn what I just ruined
