Gun Owners?

personal responsibility.[/QUOTE]

wow im going to digress here, slightly, might be cause for another thread ..perhaps a poll

I've got one name for you Plaxico Buress is he the exception or a prime example of stupid (in this case the inability to exercise personal responsibilty relative to owning a gun) This is a case of extreme stupid but its the stuff that you always hear about relative to guns and
its the ammunition that's used to bolster the arguements for stiffer gun control.

So instead the honest people have to register everything to the nth degree

The real problem is that you cant legislate against stupid.

okay but plaxico committed like 5 felonies doing what he did. He obviously doesn't give a crap about laws, it seriously seems that even if handguns were outlawed he would still buy one off the street, since really that's nothing compared to the trouble he'll get into for:
He lives in jersey so
1. It's illegal to carry a gun on you in NJ.
2. It's illegal to transport a gun in NJ unless you are driving to or from a range or gun repair shop. If you stop for gas on that trip it is considered a felony.
3. It's illegal to carry a gun on you in NY
4. It's illegal to transport a handgun across the state line INTO NY (ONLY state in the union with this law) even IF you are on your way to a gun store or range. (you can apply for a permit to do this, if you are going to a handgun competition in NY). I can't bring my .22 to my own (not mine) hunting cabin with a private range on it because there is no way to get my gun there.
5. It's illegal to shoot a gun off, even into your own leg.
6. It's illegal for that other guy to transport that gun once he shot himself
7. It's illegal to tamper with evidence like he did also.

I have two in my possession:

A Chinese AK I bought just before the assault rifle ban in the early 90's. Still in the box, never been fired. I've been meaning to at least buy some ammo for it, but never get around to it. My old bass player (who at the time criticized me for buying it) wants me to go up to his place in north-central PA to shot it. He has since returned to is boy scout roots and rediscovered "my inner rednck" as he puts it and owns quite a number of guns (mostly pistols) locked up in a gun safe.

A 20ga pump shot gun that actually belongs to my father, but somehow never followed him to Virginia when my parents split in '88. In VA, he has a few: a 38 revolver, a reproduction Enfield rifle (Civil War muzzle-loader), and I think another shot gun.

My interest is towards historical/military guns. If I had the money, I'd probably have a sizable collection of the different kinds from the various past wars. Mainly rifles and what not. Less interest in pistols, although a Luger, P38 and 1911from WW2 would be neat to have.

FINALLY got my Sig
It's sweet sweet sweet! Like a brand new XTR derailleur 😀

I'm not a gun guy, but that is a real beauty, Luke.

I was out with a buddy the other day, and he showed me his new pistol. I am not sure what it is called, but it is small enough to fit in his wallet - crazy. And yes, he is a cop

Yeah I'm not actually much of a gun guy, just a gun rights guy. I wanted to own one real pistol (I have basically a toy .22 other than this new one) so I figured I should buy something I'd be happy with for the next 30 years. This thing is really really nice. Really bad timing on the arrival though, as this thing decimated my bank account and I'm buying that new camera this month too(ordered this gun like 6 months ago). UGG, back to eating cereal for dinner.

Down in hillbilly land... (my grandparents house in SC) We throw a bunch of 5gal buckets out in the woods and shoot the crap out of em😀 Its fun lol

Luke - please don't shoot me with anything other than your camera lens. If the tights thing is that much of an issue, I'll wear armor next race.

haha, won't be a problem 🙂
though, my range backs up to wawayanda. those shots you can hear in there are from cherry ridge.

Mighty fancy trigger lock ya got there, Luke😀. I hear you guys firing at the range from my house, it sounds like one guy has a 4 guage goose gun. Covers up all the plinking with the ole .22

luke - is that a 9mm? it'll definitely shoot better than the ruger you have.

one thing stupid thing i've done you might not be aware of when you shooting your new one. i've clipped the fat of my hand before with the slide during rapid fire rounds - stings like a song of bitch. just be aware of where the meat of your hand is on the grip (the area between the thumb and trigger finger).

i used to have a beretta over/under 20 ga for sporting clays/trap, .22 rifle and an M1 for when competed in jr high and high school with the DCM, a .44 long barrel revolver (aka the dirty harry gun) for fun at the range, and a .45 for target (again for when i competed). they are all with my dad in PA now. my dad used to be a dealer here in NJ but he stopped buying/selling/trading and moved out of state. i find it too much of a PITA to keep them here, so he has them. he probably will continue to have them until i move out of state. i never shoot anymore anyway.

That is really nice looking.

30 years? Come on, thats nothing. My 1911 is about 70 years old now and still in perfert working order. Even after my grandfather dragged it across Europe 😀

You left out the new bike your getting too. Oh and your wedding....😀

Ha yeah i've nabbed my fat hands on my ruger when I first got it too 🙂
This is going to be an incredibly expensive year for me. UGH.
Maybe I'll get lucky and my family will be generous at my wedding. yeah right! haha.
I'm still dumbfounded that I'm marrying the daughter of 2 people both with master's degrees and I'm the one that has to pay for the wedding because they are inable to stop spending money like it's on fire.
OH well, at least I get to do it my way then and nobody can complain (much).

Oh and I'm still trying to find a legal way for me to go shooting in the morning and riding in the afternoon legally. Since it's illegal to go anywhere with a gun that's not directly from your house to the range and back, I can't stop and go for a bike ride. I need to find out if it would be legal if we took 2 cars to the range, and left one there with the guns in them.
Or maybe I'll just get to know panhead and leave them at his house and we can all hit up wawayanda 🙂
