Got Rust?

What's the best way to get rid of some minor rust? It's a Specialized Allez road bike...a few spots of rust including front and back brakes. It was my friend's and it had been sitting unused in her apartment. I'll be testing it out tomorrow, woo hoo!!

just use some medium/fine sandpaper to gently sand it off

then you can choose to apply touchup or clearcoat

otherwise, just make sure bike is dry after a wet ride or don't store in humid areas

Aluminum foil. It may sound crazy but it works and won't scratch as much as sandpaper.

Hit it with some wd40 and let it soak then wipe off rust. Then clean the wd40 off with aom alcohol. Light sandpaper if needed. Por15 is good for covering rust but comes in limited colors.

So many options to choose from - thanks for the advice everyone! Maybe I will just run with it....ha ha! Now if only I knew how to properly use the handlebars and shift gears...it feels SO strange compared to my Stumpjumper!!

remove rust with dremel/scotchbrite wheel, apply T9 Boeshield.
