Gas powered bikes?

No Corona in the woods today.

We did not have any rain lately, so a lot more trails can be connected as the mud holes are drying up. I need to bring a shovel with me one day and make a drain ditch for this one.

There was a couple of guys on Quads out today, they said cops have been ticketing all Quad Riders last week in our area. One of their friends got stock in mud and received $700 worth of tickets. No tags, no insurance, no helmet, impounded his Quad.

I told them that I'm 100% legal and wished them a good day. I'm glad Quads can not go on singletrack.

so you have a coil throwing too much juice?

Secondary resistance on Two / three coils are reporting higher that expected resistance. expected = 4.5k ohms. I measured 8.8k

the questionable cylinder (right) measures 4.4k which is perfect. The questionable cylinder observed intermittent / inconsistent spark.

i’ll report back with the cdi / rectifier anomalies later. Ultimately the ideal #s the checklist specified were different from my measurements... however all three reported the similar.

When is the last time you replaced plug wires and plug boots? On one of the twins that rolled through the garage I had a very similar issue, just inconsistent readings. Replaced the plug wires and boots and worked like a charm.

Like what you’re doing. I would do the same. Only other issue I could see is if there’s anything going on inside the coil. Is the housing able to be opened? These old wires and coils from the 70s can get spiders, bugs, corrosion, you name it on them. I found a dead stink bug in my throttle once.

if I still have issues, I’ll most likely buy new modern coils @$25 per...

and the invest in a brand new modern cdi units @$400
and just keep eliminating variables until it runs right.

only running on two cylinders... right cyclinder not firing.. suspected a bad cdi.. switched center cylinder cdi with right and the center stopped running...

i’ll bite the bullet at buy a brand new modern set and be done with this old tech.
