Flow Trails

Did you read the anti mtb rants and comments? I think I've run into some of these people on the trails.

"Mountain biking, ESPECIALLY downhill mountain biking, is an abuse and destruction of wildlife habitat and should not be allowed.

Bicycles should not be allowed in any natural area. They are inanimate objects and have no rights. There is also no right to mountain bike. "

Its all about the flow! Sign me up. I get my fix at Diablo.

Its getting old with the people so against bikers. Jorba and the other organizations proves that trails can be sustained while used by bikes.

That Mike Vandeman guy has been spewing his bullshit for years. I got into a very big debate with him on a message board 6 or 7 years ago. He's an ignorant asshole, who will never change the belief that he is right. It's sad really. We're all want the same thing, natural space that remains natural. These environmental extremists need to realize that we're all on the same team. But unfortunately when there are assholes like Vandeman, there is going to continue to be lack of voice of reason.

Holy shit, never thought I'd see that name over on this coast.

That guy is a staple of hilarity back home.

He finally snapped last year and attacked a guy with a handsaw last year on the trails around UC Berkeley. Crazy times. There is even some nutter chick that made an MTBR account just to defend Mike on the norcal forums.

Peter Frick has a blog about the whole trial experience, you should check it out. Couple crazies in the comments there as well.

this guy is nuts
http://www.cyclelicio.us/2010/mike-vandeman-arrested-for-assault-with-deadly-weapon/

He got 30 days on work detail, 3 years probation and a "stay away" order from local trails at sentencing.
