Film Shooting

I just did a 20 mile loop in there, they didn't mess with any of the rocks...so thats cool.

If i showed up to ride and they told me it was closed, I'd consider it a challenge and figure another way in. I subscribe to the its easier to say opps sorry then to ask for permission philosphy. If they catch u in there what are they going to do...carry your bike out?

The problem as is usualy the case, the folks handing out these permits are never the ones who actualy enjoy the parks. So they could care less and bend over backwards because they are starstruck. All these events cause is traffic.I wonder if at least in this permit /package , they pay for police time? How does a town benefit from this?

with further thought about this, and a couple of beers....

the permit process takes time, but there is a privacy thing, even tho it is a public place. jorba should talk the the nj film whatever, and get on the list to be notified. and connections with the park people should be checked as to if they knew, and why the info didn't flow.....

the problem wasn't really the closure, it was showing up to find the park closed....(ok, IMHO)

On Friday, they had a dozen wheel barrels full of snow lined up near the lot and they were filming near an icy stream.

Don't let them catch you!

Why is everybody making a big deal about it. G-sus!!

Rode there yesterday. Perfect conditions. Ground frozen. Almost no snow. Light snow in some places with some ice underneath, but I think there are more bare spots than snow spots. Lake seems to be frozen. Rode there a bit. Saw a guy right in the middle walking.

If I didnt see the article about "the shoot" I couldn't have not tell that there was a film crew there a day or to ago. I dont think any "rider" was affected by the closure, perhaps that is why it wasn't done during the weekend.?!?!

Besides, if you know that park well, you know there are plenty of spots that you could get in to do your ride, if that is what you felt like doing. Park is huge and I bet you they were just shooting at one spot that wasn't too far off the parking lot. So you got plenty of trails for your enjoyment.

Carry on....

Was up there this morning and saw El Z tracks everywhere! From the soccer field to the ruins.
BTW, who rides a fat bike there? Saw fat tracks two weeks ago.

I don't understand, who is that and what does she have to do with closing Ramapo Mountain State Forest? I seriously doubt that is what she was wearing the days of the film crew ocupation.

I have it from a reliable source that JL was grinding on your avatar during film occupation.

I was in there while they were filming and was only denied access to the West side of the lake (Cannonball). Apparently they were filming at the old ranger’s home overlooking the lake.

wouldnt be hilarious if youre watching the movie and way in the background you see some dude bombing down a hill on a mtb.

mistakes like that do happen in movies 😉

Not sure if they filmed at the castle but it seems like it because some of the fallen trees were removed as well.

So after all of the silly complaining about the closure it turns out that the film crew actually did some TM for us? 🙄
