ESI Grips

I got the Chunkys. They feel very nice. It says to use water, air, or windex. Something about windex on my new bars didn't sit well with me and i don't have an air compressor. So I used water and after wrestling with them for 30min, they are finally on! I have a small blister just from installation. That only goes to show they are grippy as hell 😀

Yet to use them on the trail but thought I'd kick this off. Time to one up the Ergon thread.

Nice Manny I was going to go the ESI route but opted for the White Ergon GA 1... The platform style Ergon's are good if you plan to be on the bike for long periods of time...I feel more in control with round grips

agree, I feel more in control going downhill on round grips. The round ergons sound nice but ESI's are very nicely priced and wanted to try something different. I got the blue ones (they are more like dark/purply blue). Hopefully the sun will fade some of it. I wanted white or red to have a nice match but C.Punch warmed me about the white and the red seemed like TOO much pop.

The ESI's are amazing. I am on my 3rd pair right now. I sometimes switch to some ergons, but I prefer the esi's for most riding. We usually have every color in both thicknesses if you are looking for a place to get some.

Come on manny, use a little bit of rubbing alcohol and grips will slide right on and the alcohol evaporates. The windex thing is probably along those lines.

I ordered ESI grips about two weeks ago from the website. I should get them sometime in the next few days. There was an address problem and I think they were at some sales convention or something. So it took some time to get things figured out. A friend has them and recommended them. I look forward to trying them out.

Yeah Boy!!

I've been running the Racer's Edge on all my bikes since they came out in like '05 or so? I tried the Ergons last year and thought they sucked monkey nuts, not to mention they add like a pound to your bike🙄

I've been interested in these for a while now, when will Halter's have some in stock?:hmmm:

Got my grips on Fri and put them on the bike on Sat. It was relatively easy. The hardest part about putting them on is finding the thick side. I marked it with a sharpie but as I put them on the sharpie wore off. I think I've got them positioned right. It took less then 5 min to put them on. I'll be riding with them today. Not sure I will notice a great difference but the concept behind them is cool.

Today was my first ride with the ESI Chunky's. So far so good. They have a nice feel to them, but I'm more concerened about how my hands will feel tomorrow.
I was using Ergons due to serious pain in my hands from regular grips.
I'm hoping that CF bars with the ESI's will allow me to go back to round grips.
I'll post a follow up tomorrow.
