Denver, colorado

i do a month in colorado every year, fruita is great. You might want to try Monarch Crest trail ride. They drop you at 11,500 feet and ride 30-36 miles of mostly single track to something like 7,000 feet and its much closer to Denver than fruit. Dakota ridge across from red rocks is my favorite being one of the most technical that close to denver. White Ranch is a faster one and Centennial Cone is a good higher elevation in the front range. A lot of the front range parks have every other day for mountain bikers and the other days for hiking. Riding in CO you have to get used to riding on high exposure ledges with only inches of trail

Yeah i have been to fruita a couple of times, alsome to ride there, but not a day trip. Also been to monarch crest next time you go, don't do monarch crest much better trails in salida then that one. Never even heard of the rest but thanks will check them out. When do you head out for your month send me a post and will meet up. thanks for info can't wait to see it every day all year.

A month every year.....nice!!! I went to CU and am always trying to think of ways to get back. I guess your a rock climber as well?

head out to crusty butt and hit the trails south of the Maroon Bells.
it will be an early summer there due to total lack of snow.

And more!

And Hall/Heil Ranch near Lyons. If you're out in Colorado let me know as I live in the Front Range and can show you around!
p.s. THANKS to all the awesome mtber's today at Allamuchy helping me out!

Favorites: Fruita is the best (3 epic areas: Lunch Loops, 18 Road, and the area where Horsethief's Bench/Troy Built are), along with Curt Gowdy in Wyoming (2 hrs 15 north of Denver). Breckenridge for some serious lung-buster rides. Or get to Arizona as there's fun stuff down there too.
