If anyone is interested in doing informal cross practices check out Otto Farm Park in Hillsborough at 6:00 on Wednesdays in September, October, November and December. There will be two 20 minute races with barriers and some running up hill with the bike. All abilities and mountain bikes are welcome.

Directions to Otto Farm Park

On Rt. 514 east just west of Neshanic (Hillsborough), turn south onto Montgomery Rd. and continue to the first intersection (Wertsville Rd.). The Otto Farm Park will be at the intersection.

Awsome,

I just saw this park on my last road ride and saw a few Cross bikes on cars leaving. I've been wondering what goes on there.

Thanks,

Tim

This conflicts w/ the Rutgers practice which draws a strong mix of guys. Not sure if this is set in stone. Not to sound like a jerk but you may see a better turnout if you change the day. :hmmm:

You sound like a jerk. But I guess I can let this one slide.

Dan,

Who puts this on? Is there a club involved?

-Jim.

Jim,

no club involved, just a group of bike riders looking to get in shape. no fee and a new course every week with everything you find on a real cross course except a gorilla banging on a spackle bucket unless fasterthanliam shows up.

Isn't round a shape? If so Dan you are already there. Besides all the cool guys practice with the Rutgers guys.:getsome:

how late do they stay? are there lights? i live in hillsborough, but i couldn't get there til about 6:45 the earliest. sounds like a good time.

Rutgers is a very lame course with one set of a broken down barrier (PVC pipe)...Yes some fast guys show up but without you Jim V it just won't be the same;(.. I would like to try something new.... but that is just me

Why dont we start something in Monmouth county?
Maybe Tatum park, after all, it is home to the world championship course.

What world championship course?

Gotta give Chucky props for speaking his mind, The Rutgers CX course is a bit lame and they charge a fee to practice there and will cancel in wet weather. Cross racing is all about wet, muddy and snowy conditions. And double barriers, I think, should be placed in a slower section say coming in/out of a corner and not on a long straight like Rutgers. Just my opinion

RC ... :hmmm:

Word up RC!!!! I pay my $$$$ and if it rains they bail, although I understand it's not there grounds and Rutgers gets pissy... It still blows!!! myself, Jimv, Fred B and Chris E did a rain day CX on the canal side of six mile when Rutgers was a no go and it was a blast in the rain and mud just like CX should be...
