Camelbak Tip

Sorry, have to slightly resurrect this thread, just a smidgen ...

So I can put my empty Camelbak reservoir in the freezer after a ride, empty of course, and leave it in there in lieu of buying silly brushes or actually making an effort to clean that thing?
Really?
I mean I get the mold is not quite at home in the deep cold thing but, the rubber reservoir is not going to crack or anything at an inopportune moment?

Lastly, and depending on how big said freezer is, can you fold it?

I know, question, questions ...

Thanks.

Alex

As Bob the Builder says, "yes we can".

I loosely screw on the cap, coil the tube and fold the bladder in half. The bladder stays flexible even while frozen. The little bit of water that tends to stay in the tube freezes and makes it stiff but it thaws out within minutes. I just make sure to not screw the cap all the way because it can be difficult to open.

It's really that easy.

Wow!
I had visions of me looking like a mad scientist trying to clean the reservoir while being given odd looks by my family.
A relief indeed. Thanks !!
