Birthday Trip

Shaggz

A strong 7
I am turning 40 in January, and my buddy from CA wants to meet up with me for 4 days. Here are the parameters:

1: Just the guys
2: January
3: Me no MTB
4: Me no ski
5: Continental US

What do you recommend?

Hike some of the awesome trails somewhere in one of the big national parks? 2-3 day hike of pure manliness!

Vegas: Been there, won't go back
Nat'l Parks: Which one(s)? Last one we did was Zion. Grand Canyon the trip before. It is January...

Florida Keys...Great aquatics to be had in warm weather and if your Key West the night life aunt to shabby...

Spencer: Nice choice 😎

Kevin: My buddy does not MTB, although if the weather is OK in the one of the Utah parks, I could squeeze a day in :hmmm:

January: The date it is. Mark's wife is due in February, so his clock is punched.

Super Bowl will be lost on me.

Keep 'em coming...

2 Parks that I've spent time in and absolutely loved was Yosemite and Yellowstone. Also you could look at Glacier national. If you head towards UTAH and have missed Bryce canyon you've missed out. IMO it topped Grand and Mt Zion of which I've been to both. All have some great hiking and with that time of year you probably could get in an ice climbing excursion at yosemite.

He beat me to it. Winter is a great time for the Florida Keys and the Everglades. You could do a good combo trip. Try an overnight Kayak trip, a night or two in Key West and please do me the favor of having at least one good Cuban meal in Miami.

When you decide that I'm right, I'll give you some more details.
