so ive been keeping my roadie in the house but its gotta get moved out of the way i have some room in my bedroom anyone use wall or ceiling mounts to hang their bikes? if so could i get a little direction also? thanks guys

I hang my road bike from the ceiling but in my garage, not my bedroom. I just screw in two rubber coated hooks to a beam and hang the wheels from them.

Hanging it is as simple as going to Home Depot, buying a rubber coated hook and then screwing it into the ceiling. I think they may even be called "bike hooks".

It doesnt heve to be anything elaborate. If you want to do something a little more fancy some shops sell gravity bike racks. The bikes stack one on top of the other and the rack just leans against the wall.

If I was to do it, I'd go to HD and spend the couple of bucks on the hook.

home depot also sells a specific bike hanger, to hang you bike on the wall by one wheels. I think they are 7 or 8 bucks. Like Walter noted, you can bike the hook style also.

I had 2 bikes w/ v brakes and susp. forks hanging upside down for a few years, no trouble with the forks.

Added a 3rd bike this year, but there was no extra room on the ceiling. So, I re-arranged some hooks and I have 2 mtbs (heavy low end mtbs) each hanging from the front wheel, and my roadie hanging from the rear. I staggered front/rear so I could hang them closer together. No troubles so far.

They are simply rubber coated hooks screwed into a ceiling stud, so they swing around a bit if disturbed. That's my only complaint. There will be a better solution when we buy a house, but for my situation now it works. They are hanging in front of a window in the garage, so the wall mounted tire hook wasn't an option.

mine hangs upside down in the basement when its not in my truck waiting to be ridden . . . got two of those hooks in the cieling and its more than happy to hang from them

This is what I did, cost about 40 bucks and hr of your time..
