I'll be hosting beginner rides for the next 6 Fridays. This is a good opportunity for someone who is new to mountain biking. We will meet in the Marina parking lot (left side) around 6:00 pm and ride for about 1.5 - 2 hrs. Bring a bike with knobby tires, helmet, spare inner tube, water & a snack.

I drive a dark blue Ford Focus.

Just moved to the area last month. Would you be up for a more advanced intermediate ride (if possible @ Mercer) around 4?

Not sure what kind of advanced ride you are looking for. Mercer park is mostly flat and good for beginners. Since I have been mountain biking less than a year, I like Mercer and am comfortable taking brand new riders through the trails. I have not yet ridden the blue trail but plan to check it out in the next couple of weeks. Here are some pics from the latest ride. http://www.meetup.com/South-Jersey-Singletrack/calendar/14208299/

I may have misspoken since I haven't ridden Mercer before. I only moved to the area about 6 weeks ago. I suppose if the trails are flat and non-technical, was just looking for a faster pace and more loops = longer distance.

Sorry for the confusion.

Either way, anyone free to ride today around 4ish? Will need to know by 3

I am in for next Friday, but I won't be able to get there until 4:15-4:30.

Blue Trail

I rode the blue trail today for the first time. Very nice and maybe one or two steps up from a beginners level.

Only problem is that it does not connect back to the red trail (the area that is dashed on the map). I looked from both sides and had to go around on the road. Coming from the Red trail, it ends in someones back yard, and from the power line side I only found a bever in a drain pipe and no way accross the water.

I am interested in riding with you this coming friday, if you are going.

Check the trail map I posted (http://www.mtbnj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=405) Since the Beavers moved in and they built all of the housing north of the park what was once seasonaly wet is now a small lake The only way around is by road

Do you host a ride this Friday, 20?

I'd like to come and bring my son along.
Do you want me to register on 'meetup' web site for that?

You don't have to sign up but it will update on future rides that may not be posted here. I may also be driving a red ford escape. See you Friday.

The pleasure was all mine. I'll try to sneak out of my office this week. Either way I'll ask my wife to drop my son for it.

Cannot make the coming Friday (27th)

My son will be at the day camp until 6pm. So we cannot make it to the ride on August 27th.
Maybe the Friday after.
