Allaire Conditions

Thanks for the heads up we saw that Tuesday and have let the park know it's there...

so last weekend we got lost trying to find the black trail (made a left instead of staying right). Just wondering if this trail loops back to the parking lot?

Looks like you went down to the "Coke Trail". That's a out and back to the Golf course. Normally very wet and raw and now the turnaround is blocked from Sandy.
Check out the Map's above this Thread.

Allaire is wet, only did a short ride. Any section that isn't sand/gravel is mud.

Not completely unrideable, did not pick up a bunch of mud on bike or tires

Thanks for the report I would say by tomorrow it will be better if the sun stays out to dry some of the wet spots out.

Allaire is wet, soft, and there are puddles even in the unusual spots. 🙁 it is not draining well. Hopefully it will dry out some before the next wave of moisture. The Hog Lakes are pretty cool looking right now though.

It's looking like sunny and dry tomorrow.

Think it'll be good for a later evening ride? (assuming no more showers show up)

...my bikes been collecting dust and tomorrows my first chance in 2+ weeks to get back on, so i've got that itch. (not to mention I gotta start working off this beer belly; the wife's not pregnant anymore so I have no excuses left)

if we get the same type of weather today as we got yesterday it should be in better shape by after work time. I think we just got too much rain too quick so far we have some nick clearing to do on the up coming TM sessions.

Conditions were very good yesterday and this morning there are still some soft spots which we will deal with in the upcoming TM sessions. Remember when you get to either standing water or a soft spot slow down and ride through the center of the trail. This will keep our singletrack intact and not widen the trails. What I have noticed in a lot of parks lately is rear wheel dragging this tends to cause some issues for the trails and the rider. If your back wheel is not turning the amount of control you have goes down exponentially try to just drag the brakes lightly to shed some speed. other then that have fun and be safe.

Any idea how much rain fell yesterday? Thinking about heading down for a ride as I'm getting sick of the road....

Hi Gary! 😀

It rained quite a bit down our way, but most of Allaire ought to be fine today. Gonna be some puddles on the Blind Trail and Tiger Woods.

Hey Chris, Thanks. They are all Blind Trails for me as I get down that way about once a year. Still have every rock and root from South Mountain ingrained in my memory, but Allaire is a mystery every time.

I was considering stopping on my way home today as well. I need to ride bad.
probably only a matter of time before it starts raining again! 😡

I'll be riding there after work..getting off early around 1:46pm finally to take advantage of this good weather!

Wheels down soon!

Keep the rubber side down!

Cheers!
