Allaire Conditions

I was there myself for a while the trails were in good shape for the most part. there was ice in some of the corners on the glass trail and switchbacks. across the road was good as well. of course with whats coming all bets are off for the rest of the week.

The smell seemed to fade as the temps warmed. It was 9 or 10 degrees when we got there at 7:30 and the smell was bad. My guess is that the cold air was sinking in the lower areas and holding the stench down with it. As it warmed up, the stench faded. Very weird.

Was Mitchell there today? That could explain the smell. Hoping to get there tomorrow 10 ish and get some before the next named storm hits, Winter Storm Doofus, or whatever they're calling it. Wasn't there today but the 2 days before was best conditions in a couple months. Crazy winter.

Any body know how many inches landed on Allaire this past Sunday/Monday?

Actually, I'd say maybe an inch.

A little more than that. I'd say 2"ish. The ground is completely covered everywhere.

I was there for a few hours this afternoon. Plenty of MTBers have been hitting the trails since the weekend. It is 100% Fat Bike awesome and plenty rideable on a regular MTB.

Glad to hear that, I might try to make it down tomorrow after work for an hour or so...on a skinny tire bike..

Intellicast is calling for 53 highs for Sat. and 46 highs for Sunday. I would say that all our snowy goodness will turn to slop by Saturday afternoon get it early be fore it gets bad.

I was there in the AM, Mike is right, ride first thing Saturday morning or it will be a swamp!

Trail conditions are still good, the center tred is icing up a bit, creating some resisitance, but most trails have a beaten path.

March 5th, 3:30 pm. Allaire is a mess. Had to cut the ride short. Have been in there on the fatty the last two days.., perfect. Today was the tuning point. With everybody crazy to ride, and the forecasted temps.., it'll be an absolute mess in there this w/end.

Just heard an updated forecast, shld be good for early thurs morn. Supposed to get pretty cold again tonight before this w/ends warm up.

it's supposed to stay at or below freezing tomorrow. i should be out there early and will post up afterwards.

Friday will be better than Saturday

Sometime between 12:30 and 1pm Wednesday, all the pristine goodness turned to slush and mud. Good thing those are fun, too,😀 just in a different way. I got first tracks on some of the northern Orange and found a water bottle that I had dropped 3 hours earlier late in the afternoon on my last loop😎.

The forecast is that we won't get above freezing from now until 9am on Friday but, then, won't go below 32 degrees until Saturday night. Saturday will be a mud fest.
